Kevin De Bruyne looked to be over his tough two months as he trained alongside some of his Manchester City team-mates on Tuesday.

The creative midfielder has been out of action since August, when he suffered a nasty knee injury in training.

De Bruyne has made only Premier League appearance this season - against Arsenal on the opening weekend - but he is closing in on his return.

The Belgium playmaker was seen joking with some of his team-mates and manager Pep Guardiola, though many of City's players are still away with their countries.

Benjamin Mendy and Fernandinho were among the other stars who seemed in good spirits as the return of the Premier League edges closer.

Fabian Delph also trained on Tuesday but the England international remains a doubt for this weekend's action.

Manchester City, who sit top of the table after eight matches, face Sean Dyche's Burnley on Saturday.

In De Bruyne's absence, they have won five matches and drawn two and currently sit level on points with both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Many of Guardiola's stars have been away on international duty over the last week, with Raheem Sterling among those to star for their country.

The England forward scored twice as Gareth Southgate's side beat Spain 3-2 in Seville in Monday night.
