PSG and Real Madrid battle over Eriksen

PSG and Real Madrid are ready to do battle for Tottenham's Christian Eriksen.

The Danish playmaker has just 18 months left on his contract in north London and is yet to sign an extension.

Negotiations have been ongoing for some time over a new £70,000-a-week deal for Eriksen, who has been at the club since 2013.

But Eriksen has recently seen Dele Alli sign a new £150,000-a-week deal until 2024, after star striker Harry Kane also penned new terms.

Real are looking to Eriksen as a long term replacement for Croatian star Luka Modric – and are also reportedly interested in Manchester United’s young England forward Marcus Rashford. Eriksen wants parity with the top earners at Tottenham, but the Dane, Express Sport understands, has also been unhappy at some of the positions he has been asked to play this season by manager Mauricio Pochettino.

PSG have been long time admirers of the 27 year old Danish international, and were linked with a move for him last summer. That interest has not waned.
Tottenham however do not want to sell Eriksen, who missed several games with a stomach problem last month, and has started only six league matches this season.

Since his return from injury, the Dane has been a substitute in four of Spurs last seven games.

But he did start both important Champions League matches against PSV Eindhoven.
