West Ham sweat on Arthur Masuaku’s fitness ahead of London derby |
West Ham United will be hoping Arthur Masuaku shakes off his 'minor injury' before Saturday's Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Masuaku suffered a knock in the ankle region on his debut for DR Congo in their 2-1 loss against Zimbabwe on Saturday and was subsequently replaced in the 82nd minute.
Arthur Masuaku has picked up a very minor ankle injury on international duty. He's been withdrawn from the DR Congo squad for the AFCON qualifier against Zimbabwe and is on his way back to London.
The 24-year-old later missed the return fixture of his country's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Harare. He is, however, expected to return to shape ahead of the London derby at the London Stadium.
The left-back has been a regular fixture in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad this campaign with seven league appearances thus far.
West Ham sit 15th in the English top-flight standings and will be looking to end Tottenham's three-game unbeaten run in the Premier League on Saturday.
