Ac Milan want Fabregas
The 31-year-old has struggled to break into new boss Maurizio Sarri's plans so far this season.
Fabregas’ involvement in the Blues’ unbeaten start to their season has been restricted to cup competitions.
The playmaker has seen just 48 minutes of action in his side’s Premier League campaign.
But his frustrations could be relatively short-lived if Chelsea and Milan can agree a fee for a January deal.
Failing that, the Seria A side are hopeful of convincing their target to join on a free next summer.
CalcioMercato.com claim that Fabregas is one of three players that the Rossoneri are considering for a January move.
Sporting director Leonardo is apparently keen on the former Arsenal star, whose deal expires at the end of the season.
Chelsea captain Gary Cahill is also exasperated at his position on the fringes on Sarri’s squad.
And the centre-back could join Fabregas at the San Siro if Milan follow through with their reported interest.
Earlier this season, the Spaniard said he wishes he had played for Sarri earlier in his career.
"I feel sensations under Sarri that I never thought I would feel again," said Fabregas.I wish he came a bit earlier to be honest. It's a little bit late now in my career."
Chelsea face a crunch London derby with Tottenham at Wembley when the Premier League returns on Saturday.
A Marcos Alonso brace gave the Blues victory over their rivals in the corresponding fixture last August.
